Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actor since the late 1980s. Since the late 80s she has been working in television and film. She's received numerous awards including 16 NAACP Image Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and was raised by her aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett and her sister, at the age of five old, made the move from New York to St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their separated father. Bassett was in high school and, saw John Steinbeck's production Of Mice and Men with James Earl Jones and she decided to become an actress. Yale University New Haven Connecticut, where she received her bachelor's degree in African American and master's degrees (1983). The year 1997 was the time she was married Courtney B. Vance who was a fellow actor. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1980. Master in Fine Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama School: Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (seventh grade) Azalea Middle School (eighth and ninth grade) Boca Ciega High School.
